2024 Records from Acadia
2024 was another great year for music here at Acadia! We worked with a fantastic mix of musicians, recording some of our favorite bluegrass, punk, and alt rock to date. We had a delightful mix of old faces and new projects, and met so many talented people along the way! It is always a privilege to have all of you trust us with your creative visions, and we are just so unbelievably lucky that this gets to be our job.
Some fun additions to the studio gear collection this year include a fantastic Arkham Sound Modded Fender 64' Blackface Deluxe Reissue, a Therevox ET-5, Two Face Fuzz from Tru-Fi Pedals (we solder pedals for Tru-Fi when we aren’t busy recording so it’s great to have a finished pedal to use in the studio now too), and expanded our Neumann microphone family to include a pair of Neumann KM183s (just fantastically versatile omni SDCs), and a KM254. Finally, we got our hands on a 3-D printer and have been eagerly printing XY mic clips and all sorts of the little behind-the-scenes things that make our nerdy hearts so happy.
Unfortunately, 2024 also came with a major loss to Maine’s music community. Here’s a little note from Todd:
“We lost one of the greats this last week with the passing of our own David Mallett. He was a Mainer thru and thru and was the real deal with zero bullshit. He practiced what he preached and it came across in his music. A loss of this magnitude is hard to comprehend, and I’m having a rough time with this one to be honest. His songwriting and lyrics cut straight to what it means to be a good and honest hard working person. I was honored to have gotten to work with a man of his caliber and learned from him both musically and as a human being on this earth. Myself and the state of Maine will forever miss him. “
