2024 Records from Acadia
2024 was another great year for music here at Acadia! We worked with a fantastic mix of musicians, recording some of our favorite bluegrass, punk, and alt rock to date. We had a delightful mix of old faces and new projects, and met so many talented people along the way! It is always a privilege to have all of you trust us with your creative visions, and we are just so unbelievably lucky that this gets to be our job.
Our Fender Family
We are lucky to have an array of cool Fender amps at our (and your) disposal here at the studio. These classic designs provide go-to sounds we know and love.
The Fountaineer
We had a whirlwind day August 17th, 2021 recording a jazz ensemble soundtrack for a stop-motion animation, The Fountaineer. The live room certainly hit peak chaos of cables and microphones and screens and music stands and baffles, but luckily we had top tier talent in the room, and everything got done!
Ryan Blotnick composed the score and organized the ensemble for this project. It was such a treat to work with Nihco Gallo on Vibraphone, Emma Stanley on Trumpet, Danny Fisher-Lochhead on Alto Sax, Aaron Henry on Tenor Sax and Bass Clarinet, Ross Gallagher on Bass, and Gary Gemmiti on Drums.
SSL Origin Install = Massive Upgrade
In a previous post we told the story of purchasing our new Solid State Logic ORIGIN 32 console. Now we’d like to share details of installing the console and the many additional major studio upgrades that came with it.
Acadia’s New SSL Origin Console
Acadia engineer Jason Phelps recalls - “As a young musician and aspiring gear-head, I clearly remember seeing an ad for the then newly released SSL 4000G series console. It was an awe-inspiring thing of beauty, impossibly far out of reach. From that moment it was my dream to even just be in the room with such a machine, nevermind to OWN one. However, a seed was planted and little did I know that 35 years later, that dream would actually become a reality!”
